In 1913 a Sopwith pusher floatplane was delivered to the Greek Government. A followup order for six was seized by the Admiralty, and the planes, Nos. 801-806, were converted to armed landplanes. The were known as the Sopwith Gunbus. A second order followed the first. Their performance was underwhelming, but they were used for training through mid 1916.[1]
