The '''Pfalz A.I''' was a licensed copy of the [[Morane-Saulnier Type L]] with an 80hp Oberursel rotary engine.
A group of Pfalz A.I's in Austrian markings attempted to bomb Cortina d'Ampezzo in Italy on 31 July 1915 before war had been declared between Italy and Germany,
but they were unsuccessful.
Pfalz A.I's and [[Pfalz A.II|A.IIs]] also served on the Eastern Front and perhaps in Mesopotamia around Kut.<ref name=Lamberton160>Lamberton, p.160.</ref>
