Three huge Gotha W.D.27s were built in 1918. Twin engine nacelles each carried two 160hp Mercedes D.III engines. With a wingspan of 31 m (102 ft), they were large enough to be considered Riesen-Seeflugzeug (Giant Seaplanes). [1]
The first was due for delivery in April 1918 with the rest in mid-summer, but its not clear whether the latter two were completed.[3]
