Two large Gotha W.D.22 seaplanes were built during 1918 and delivered near the middle of the year. Twin nacelles carried both 160hp tractors and 100hp pushers. [2]

While its range was about the same as the WD.14, its stability was good and it performed well in even the worst weather.[1]
