Produced simultaneously with the spectacular Fokker D.VII, the rotary-engined Fokker D.VI was only built in small numbers between early 1918 and was terminated in August in order to allow greater concentration on D.VII and D.VIII/E.V production. [1]

Seven were purchased by Austria-Hungary in June 1918. They had arrived at the MAG factories for the fitting of armament but none saw service before the Armistice. After the war they served with the Hungarian Red Airbourne Corps. [5]
