The F.B.A. Type B was an enlarged version of the Type A with a more powerful 100hp Gnome engine and a redesigned tail. Over 150 were built and used by France and the RNAS. Thirty were purchased by Russia in 1914 and another 34 were built by Lebedev. As the war progressed, they proved vulnerable to attack by German seaplane-fighters, but some of them were still in service at the Armistice. [1]
