The diminutive F.B.A. Type A was based on the Donnet-Lévêque flying boats, for which F.B.A. had purchased the patent. While Aviation Maritime seems to have never bought the design, forty-two were purchased by the RNAS in 1915-1916 and --interestingly -- three by Austria-Hungary. [1]
