Small numbers of the DFW B.I, aka the MD14, served Germany until spring of 1915 on both the Eastern and Western fronts.[5]

Austria-Hungary purchased nine DFW B.I Series 01 planes from Germany in two batches in mid-1914 to November. They served with Flik 8 and with Flik 13 on the Eastern Front. They served until summer of 1915 when they were retired to training duties. [4]
