  1. The B&W seaplane was a trainer, first flying in mid 1916. According to Nowarra, fifty were built for the US Navy, and a fifty-first was retained for William E. Boeing's personal use.[1]. The Boeing website, however, says only two were built and they were sold to New Zealand.
