Russia's Anatra D Anade was accepted into service at the end of May, 1916. It was a two-seat reconnaissance plane powered by the 100hp Gnome Monosoupape rotary engine. Though some 780 were ordered, the orders were cancelled after 205 were completed due to accidents related to poor workmanship or materials. In April 1917, some 76 were at the front, but their numbers dwindled over the coming months until the October revolution. After the revolution, the Anade likely served in the Russian Civil War. [1]
