Hanriot H.D.3
The Hanriot-Dupont HD.3 C2 met the requirements of the "C2" two-seat fighter category formulated in mid 1917. The prototype flew in March 1918 and an order was placed in April, but it wasn't until autumn of 1918 that deliveries commenced. Eighteen were in service at the time of Armistice, mostly with HD174 which formed in October. Probably about 75 were built overall, but many more would have been built had the war continued into 1919. The HD.3 was well-received, with well-centralized weight adding to its maneuverability and a good amount of power provided by its 260hp Salmson 9ZA radial engine.[1]
