Louis Blériot was a famous pilot before the war and built many models in the 1909-1914 period. The Blériot 11 was one of the most famous pre-war planes -- the first to cross the English Channel. Though no new Blériot Aéronautique designs reached production during the war, the company built many well-known designs under license.[1]
